The following guide will lead you through the maze that is the Greede Underbelly. Keep referencing your map and viewing it in full screen mode to make the most sense out of this guide, and Greede. I try to reference what you will see in each room and hallway, but the most useful tools in navigating Greede are your cardinal directions North, South, East, and West.
You begin on Level 1 (the first floor).
The first room in Greede Underbelly contains a save point, conveniently enough. In the next area, to your left and right will be treasure chests and spoils (spoils from this point on meaning objects such as searchable crates). Next will be a lever straight ahead of you. Open the left gate using the lever and follow the left path. You will find a Resevoir Gate Control Lever. Use it. Turn around and go down the path on your right. There will be a chest to the left and a lever to the right.Activate the lever. You'll receive a message "Gate to resevoir area unlocked".
Return to the original lever. Use it to open the gate on the right this time. Follow the door into the next room where you should be greeted by a Golem and his friends. To your left (South on the map) you'll find spoils. To the right (North) you'll find more spoils and more monsters. Go West to a large room with two sets of stairs.
Go up the staircase on the left (South) for a chest and some spoils. Move across the hall, North of the room with the spoils you just reaped, into another large area. There will be a door straight ahead (North) and a lever to the drain control.Open the left drain using the lever and follow the corresponding left pathway. Fall down the drain.
You are now on Level 2.
Move through the door and down the path, moving right (West) to the star, your objective. Use the lever that you find there. Continue south. Follow the path West to the room with the elevator and save point. Call the elevator and return to level 1. (You'll repeat this step quite a few times).
Head East back toward the drains you just fell through. Open the right drain this time. Follow the right path and fall through the drain.
You are now on Level 2. Again.
Follow the path as it winds in a south-westerly direction, heading East as you go, toward your objective, the star on your map. There will be three levers. You need to switch them in this order, from left to right, Lever #1: right, #2 left, #3 right. Continue East to the next star.
At the next star will be a Dire Spider for you and your fellow combatants to take on! Don't be too nervous about the dire spider's size. They're not all too bad. After taking care of the spider, hit the lever to the Demithor Gate Controls. Return to the elevator and save while you're there (despite the horrendous save times it's worth it).
Take the elevator back to Level 1.
From there, follow the path directly south. On your map, in the area you are in you will see three square rooms, left, center, and right, with dark gray squares in the middles. These represent drains. For now, just keep heading straight south toward the middle drain. The path will split into three. To your left will be a door, to your right will be a stairway, and ahead will be a drain you can immediately fall through. To open the left drain you need to hit the left lever (left=west). To open the right drain you must hit the right lever (right=east).
Following the middle drain path from there will lead you to the treasure, the Preying Mantis. A powerful spear with 34 ATK. Hitting the lever to open the west drain and following the path will lead you to a treasure chest containing the Sword of Malice, a new weapon for The White Knight. Hitting the lever to open the eastern drain and falling through that will lead you to 2 dire spiders and your last lever. "Demithor Gate Unlocked".
Hitting levers, dropping down the drains, and heading back to the elevator to go back to level 1 are all simple as long as you use your map wisely. It is your choice whether or not to head to the middle and western drains--the treasure, or to head straight to your mission objective, through the right drain.
I suggest taking your time and falling through the middle drain, getting the preying mantis, going back to the elevator and level one, go through the left drain to get the sword of malice, head back up, then, lastly, head toward the right and last lever.
At this point the remaining two gates on Level 1 and 2 cannot be opened. Don't fret that you can't proceed through them. You're not forgetting anything. The South gate of Level 3 will not budge either. Sorry Charlie.
At this point all that is left to do is to take the elevator to the 3rd floor and follow the extremely straight path North. Enjoy the following cut scene! You earned a break!
Thank you, this was very helpful. :D
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for using my short little guide and posting! Glad I could help!
ReplyDeleteI beat the two direspiders twice. The first time I hit the switch and I got the message "Demithor Gate Unlocked". Then I went down to level 3, but both doors still would not open. The second time I killed them and attempted to hit the switch again, and it say "the lever refuses to budge" or something to that effect. Any insight?
ReplyDelete^ Continued..There's also a star on my map on the second floor. To the left after exiting the elevator. However the only way I see to get in to the room is via one way door, that won't let me go through..I didn't see a vent that dropped to it.
ReplyDeleteIf the demithor gate is unlocked, then that's it, that should be the end. Let me see... Did you perhaps try going through the wrong gate on level 3? One of them will still not open, while the other is the Demithor Gate. Give a really good look around level 3 and see if you missed the correct doors?
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure what the left over star means. (It's been a while since I played now honestly.) But if you got the message specifically stating "Demithor Gate Unlocked" then that's all there is to it.
Thank you, I was so stuck in this dungeon!
